Easter Part 2

Today we took a trip to the Nashville Zoo for their annual Eggstravaganzoo! Apparently, it is the biggest egg hunt around. We had never been to the zoo here so we thought it would be a fun adventure. We arrived just in time for the second session for the 2 years old and under crowd. :) It was amazing how busy it was. It took us probably 20 minutes just to get into the parking lot.

They did a fun thing where they had a ton of plastic eggs, but the point was just to have fun. They didn't have anything in them and it didn't matter how many you got. After you would take your basket to an area where you turned in your eggs and got a gift bag with goodies in it. I really liked that because Will is so young. He was really cute because there were a couple of times that he picked up an egg and put it in someone else's basket. My boy is so sweet. :) Here are some pictures of the hunt...
This was while we were waiting for the hunt to start. Will was being very impatient because he could see all the eggs out on the lawn.
 All the pretty colors!
 There was quite a few!

 One egg down! :)

After the egg hunt we walked around the zoo and saw some animals. I was kind of disappointed because they really didn't have very many. But Matt told me that the zoo has only been open since 1996, so they probably just haven't built up very much yet.
Here are some of the pretty animals and such...
Don't you love Matt's glasses! They were in the gift bag that Will got. SEXY!

 "Look Frodo Olefants"

These pretty clydesdales were part of the historic farm that the zoo was built around. They had two clydesdales and a mini pony. :)

Unfortunately, these are the only two monkeys that they have at the zoo. :( But they sure were loud! You could hear them from quite a ways away.

Cute little meerkats. Will really liked these because they were running around.
Except this guy who didn't move at all. He was just chillin!
This is a saddle-beaked stork. He didn't do much.
 My cute baby!
Will trying to run for the hills!
Zebras, ostriches, and Eland (basically a big antelope)
 White tiger. :)
The white tiger was trying to relax but the other tiger kept pacing and standing on him. The white tiger was not happy and kept swatting at him.

 The Linx! Cute kitties. :)

This alligator was really close to the glass and had his eyes open. We decided he must have been put on watch since he was all by himself and the others were cuddled together sleeping. (below)

The bamboo trail was surrounded by a lot of bamboo that they were growing and caring for. I decided Matt and Will were in jail. :)

They also had some red panda's, leopard, and flamingos but my camera died. :(  We had a good time and hope that Will did too! Happy Easter!

Easter 2013- Part 1

Today I took Will to a local play area called Kids-n-Play. They were doing an egg hunt and Easter buuny. :) We are taking Will to the zoo tomorrow for an egg hunt, but they will not allow parents to "hunt" with the kids so I thought if I took him today I could show him what he is supposed to do. He did GREAT! I hardly had to show him anything.

Kids-n-Play was WAY busy and the kids were EVERYWHERE and noisy! But Will got to have some fun with his friends Orelio Jr and Kyle. Will was also lucky and got a special egg, marked with a "P", which meant he got a special prize. It turned out to be a cute stuffed bunny.

Will really surprised me when we went to see the Easter bunny. We were waiting in line and he saw the bunny and got really excited. He wanted in right now! LOL When it was his turn I put him down and told him to go see the bunny and he ran right to him. He sat on his lap really good, took some pictures and came right back to me. It was crazy! Will is usually not that adventurous.

Will was pretty good at finding his 10 eggs :)

I tried to get my camera to zoom in but I was struggling. LOL
This is cute little Ore. His curls are so adorable. :)
Jo and Ore with the bunny.
Isn't this how you play with blocks?
After we were done playing we caught some chicken nuggets at McDonald's and headed home. Long day! Hopefully we can have just as much fun tomorrow. :)

Louisville, Kentucky!

We finally made it to Louisville! Matt wanted to go there for his birthday but we haven't had the funds. So we went a little later than his birthday. :) We made it a President's Day extravaganza!!! JK We only stayed over one night but we had lots of fun!

We drove up Sunday morning and went to the Louisville Slugger Museum/Factory. At first I wasn't really excited to go there, but I knew that Matt really wanted to. So we went and it was actually pretty cool. They have a small museum where we got to see the bats that The Giants use since they won the last World Series. :) And Matt got to hold a bat from a famous player from years ago. (I can't remember who though) The coolest part was the factory tour. Unfortunately, you cannot take pictures in there but it was pretty cool to see the machines they use to make the bats. The really cool one is the bats they make for the MLB. If a player has a contract with them then they get to design their own bat. So they have the measurements down to perfection. It takes about a minute or so for the machine to turn out one of those bats. Crazy cool!

This is Matt holding the "famous" bat. :)
Pablo, Buster, and Hunter GO GIANTS!
 He is so adorable!
This is "The Big Bat" that is outside the museum. Matt thought it would be fun to lay on the ground and take a picture looking up.
This is the "big glove". It is made out of granite. The floor around it is super soft so that the kids can climb on it.
The glove again.
Sunday night we stayed in a outside just outside of the city. It was a pretty nice hotel. I booked a room that had a separate bedroom from the "living room" so that we could put Will to bed and not have to be super quiet. Unfortunately, I am a dork and forgot his pajamas. So poor kiddo didn't sleep well. I think being cold and in a weird place was too much for him. :(

Monday we went to the science museum. It was pretty cool. Although I was disappointed because it was like $26 for Matt and I and a lot of the exhibits didn't work. :( If they are going to charge that much then I think they should have had working exhibits. But the really fun part was "the kids zone". That is where we spent most of our time. They had this water area where the kids could play and learn different things how water works. They had things that you could make a dam and see how spickets work and lots of stuff. Will just had fun playing, although the water was pretty cold. :( They also had an "airplane" that you could play on and it had a fat slide that Will loved!
This is an "ambulance" that they had for the kids to play. It sang a song and had a siren. :) Will played while Matt and I went potty. LOL

He loved the animals that they had to play in the water. :)
They had ice in the thing on the wall and he found a chunk on the floor. He was trying to give it to me. :)
 Boats are pretty awesome!
This was a construction area where they could play with trucks and stuff. The circle on the wall is a "cement mixer". :)
Matt was trying to dry Will off. I thought his hair looked funny. LOL
 "It's my firetruck"
This is the airplane cockpit. Lots of buttons! :)
The slide! We had to go down a couple of times. Will probably could have done it all day.

After the museum we went to the Hard Rock Cafe and had lunch. It was pretty fun. Will loved the music and started dancing. He is really into that lately. :) After that we headed home. Will was super tired and there was a huge storm coming in so we wanted to get home. It was pretty bad, we had to drive into the wind and Matt was having a hard time because it was so strong. But we made it with no problems and had a fun couple of days to celebrate Matt. Next stop is hopefully Gatlinburg, TN! But first we will be spending Easter at the Nashville Zoo with some friends. Pics to come!
