OK it is time to say one good thing about Utah. I know, don't be shocked! So let me just tell you that whoever built up the streets in this place has lost their mind! Almost every street here has more than one name. Do you know how hard it is to find your way around when the streets will randomly change names! To give you several examples... One of the main roads from the freeway is called Wilma Rudolph at the freeway and for about 2-3 miles down the road. Then it changes to Guthrie Highway and then when you get closer to the University it changes to College St. What the heck! Another example... there is a highway type of road that is called 101st Airborne, then a couple miles from our house it changes to Warfield and a couple miles after that it changes to Richview or something like that. And the final example of THE most retarded road is... To get to the hospital from our house you have to turn onto a road called Dunlop Ln, as you are traveling down this road (maybe a mile) it curves and you see a road off to the side that makes a 90 degree turn off Dunlop Ln that is also called Dunlop Ln. If you continue doing straight down the first Dunlop Ln it will T you then can make another 90 degree turn so get to the actual Dunlop Ln that the Hospital is on. Seriously!!!!
I don't understand why this place cannot use the simple and easy to follow grid system that Utah has, does this not make much more sense??? Perhaps my friends from CA or KS can help me understand this craziness. :)
OK I am done venting now. :)
Sounds very confusing and I would totally get lost. When I lived in California, we did not have a grid system, but I was used to it. When I moved back to Utah, I was really nervous about the grid system, but honestly, it is the best! And I agree, every state should follow the grid system!
ReplyDeletelol you would hate it here, too! It's the same. I've never seen a better road system than Utah. I hope you have a GPS, my friend!! :)
