3 months old and still going!

Will celebrated his 3 month birthday the other day. It is so much fun! He seems to have slowed down in weight gaining, which is AWESOME. I have been so worried that he is going to grow out of everything we have right after he starts wearing it. lol Unfortunately, we hardly had any 3-6 month clothes and since He pretty much has a "blow out" diaper every single day, we were having trouble. So, lucky for us, Old Navy was having an awesome sale on baby clothes. We got quite a few items for pretty cheap. I can't wait for them to show up!

Lately, I have been feeling like he might be getting ready to start eating rice cereal. So I have started introducing him to the baby spoons. It is funny because we have a bunch that are plastic so they are light enough that he can hold them. I show him the spoon every day and let him hold it. I have started to put it in his mouth to see if he tries to push it out and he sucks on it! LOL The other day when he was holding it he stuck it in his mouth, unfortunately he stuck it in a bit too far and hurt himself. That is how things go these days, everything in the mouth! We are trying so hard to keep his hands out of his mouth because they are so dry and cracked from it. We try to take his hands out every time we see him put them in and give him his binki but he usually spits it out and puts his hands in. :)

We just booked our flights to go home to Utah and visit family and friends. We are sooo excited! We are hoping to get to see everyone. Unfortunately, Matt cannot stay for too long because he doesn't have paid time off from work. So any time he takes has to be unpaid. :( Fortunately, Matt is willing to let Will and I stay a little bit longer. He is sad because he will miss us, but he knows that it will be good for us to spend some time with the family.

Here is the picture I took of Will on his 3 month birthday!

Amateur photographer!

So Matt and I do not have a lot of expendable cash these days  and I really wanted some "professional" looking pictures of Will that we could print and put on the wall. I decided to try and do it myself. LOL Unfortunately, Matt's camera was being stupid so I used the small camera. They turned out OK, but some of my ideas were not as good as I envisioned them. :)
I think the pillow behind him needed to be bigger. LOL
His belly looks HUGE in this one.
I love that he looks like he is winking in this one.
This one makes him look to big, yet small at the same time. ha ha
 LOVE this one!
I took some others in a wooden crate but he looks silly because he wasn't able to sit up very well. :)

Will is starting to do really well in his saucer toy. He can sit pretty good as long as I put a blanket around him to help. :) He is starting to play with some of the toys and he will sit in it long enough for me to make dinner or do the dishes so that is WONDERFUL!!!
Matt is starting school this week. Hopefully he won't get overwhelmed with his classes and work. He is also going to study so that he can get his powerplant license. I hope he can do well, I know it means a lot to him.
I am finally starting to make some friends, hopefully. I met some people through meetup.com and I am going to meet with them for the second time tomorrow. They seem really nice and I hope that I can make some friends for myself and Will.

Play time!

Today we bought Will some new toys to play with. I am so excited for him to play with them and learn to do more. He is growing up so fast already! He is starting to handle tummy time more, as long as he doesn't have a full belly. He tends to spit up if his belly is full. He is really starting to grab for things and hold onto them. Yesterday he was playing with the floor gym that my parents bought him and he grabbed onto a little bird that we have hanging from it and held onto the foot for about 5 minutes and looked like he was trying to pull on it. It also has a lady bug in the middle that you pull on and it plays music. He LOVES that. He can't pull hard enough to make it play but he seems to be trying so that is super fun.
We got him one of those saucer toys so that he can sit up, which he loves (which is also good because he prefers to lay on the right side of his head and it is getting a little flat!). We put him in it after Matt put it together and he seemed to have fun looking around, but then I think it got to be too much new stuff at once. LOL
We also got a ball thing and some soft blocks that rattle or crinkle or other stuff. He really liked the ball when we were in the store, but when we got home I think he was over it for a bit. :)
He loves to eat his hands and he is drooling like crazy! I try to keep his hands out of his mouth and put the binki in as much as I can but sometimes he just spits the binki out and puts his hands in. He gets really mad when I try to wipe the drool from his face. But oh well!
Here are some other pics that I have taken recently...
I thought he looked so cute! We had just finished his bath and I couldn't help myself. :)
Snuggling with daddy napping. It seems they do this a lot!
Tummy time! He is really getting good at lifting his head. Which really helps him get less frustrated!
On a side note, we experienced our first tornado warnings the other week. It was a couple days after my last post and it scared the crap out of both of us. The weather had been acting up and so Matt was monitoring the storms. We went to bed with having a tornado watch not to far from us and then about 12:30 it was raining really hard that Matt and I both woke up. He checked his phone and we had a tornado warning for our city. We of course totally freaked and were stuck to Matt's phone for info. We got Will and kept him with us just in case. At about quarter to one the first tornado siren went off. So we got in the hall bathroom so that we weren't around windows and tried to get the cats to join us. They, of course, would not cooperate. Matt was walking around the house and looking out the windows to see if he could see anything and the lights from the city were bright enough that he could see a little bit, but no tornado. Then the siren's went off again. FREAKY!!! Anyway after watching the phone and seeing the storm pass over us we felt safe to put Will back in his bed about 1:30 and try to go back to sleep. Will stayed asleep the whole time! Of course he woke up at 2:00 for his normal feeding time! The power was out for a while but it did eventually come back on and it helped relieve some of the scariness. Luckily a tornado did not actually touch down that we know of but it was still kinda scary!
